The 12th of November, "Lasshop" in Friedrichshain, Berlin invited comic artists from the comic library Renate to join in a 24 hour marathon drawing comics.
Originally, after an idea by Scott Mcloud, you arrive without plan and draw a page per hour, ending up with a 24 page comic story. I didn't even get close to doing it properly, arriving with an A-4 scribbled full with character sketches, story lines and dialogues. Also, and I could've seen this coming, I created 3 pages instead of 24. My record skew outcome since first doing one of these marathons in 2008.
Here's a panel of my story called, "Renate and Rudolf" which 'll most likely be appearing in screenprint in the fanzine Renate next spring.
But in my defense I want to say that I came there to enjoy myself and I did. We must've been about 15 comrades steaming up those shop windows of Lasshop. The best way to get an idea of the day is by taking a look at this hilarious 'making of' comic by
Mawil which he did for the newspaper Tagesspiegel Berlin last Sunday,
